Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
As soon as Ming Chu finished speaking, without even needing a signal, the four of them moved with perfect coordination: two stepped forward, two stepped back, one blade aiming for the head, the other for the tail.
Ming Chu went for the head, and Wind Leopard went for the tail.
The soldier insect, which had held the upper hand until now, couldn't react in time, and both strikes landed.
However, these two blows clearly wouldn't be fatal. The soldier insect even braced against the blade and tried to lift its head to bite Ming Chu!
But Ming Chu, having landed her strike, had already retreated instantly, and the insect bit into thin air.
At the same time, a third blade struck the center of its body, piercing it from top to bottom and pinning it to the ground!
The third person let go, leaving the blade embedded in the soldier insect, while the fourth person timed it perfectly and hurled a grenade.
The soldier insect had just used all its strength to pull the blade from the ground when the grenade hit its forehead. Before it could even react, the grenade exploded.
With a deafening "boom" and a powerful shockwave, Ming Chu turned away to avoid the blast, but Wind Leopard and the others couldn't fully evade it.
The three of them were wearing their protective suits properly, which were sufficient to withstand the impact and protect their eyes.
Because of this, they were the first to pounce.
During the hour or so they had spent stalling, Ming Chu and her team had tacitly agreed to only inflict minor wounds on the soldier insect.
The soldier insect would devour worker insects to heal, but it wouldn't prioritize eating them if the wounds were too small. Thus, after an hour, it had only grown slightly.
A soldier insect this size could be damaged by cold weapons, let alone a grenade.
The blast blew off nearly half its head!
Yet, the soldier insect's survival instinct was incredibly strong, or perhaps its "brain" wasn't where Ming Chu subconsciously assumed it to be.
Driven by pain, the soldier insect became ferocious. It sensed the danger, but its primary target remained Ming Chu.
It lunged viciously at Ming Chu, and she charged just as fiercely toward it.
