Chapter 102: Side Quest 3 Completed

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

Slash after slash, again and again.

Ming Chu landed over a dozen strikes in two seconds, hacking the soldier insect clean in two.

However, she didn't dare lift her foot yet, and Wind Leopard was still being entangled by its companions over there.

Fortunately, Yan Yan had been running toward Ming Chu's side. She took over the job of pinning the insect down with the cutting board, allowing Ming Chu to focus on the rear half of the body.

That half was still twitching. Ming Chu grabbed two more blades and stabbed both ends; this time, the body stopped moving. Ming Chu took a deep breath before saying to Yan Yan, "Lift your foot, I'm going to move the cutting board and take a look."

"I'll move it, I've already been parasitized anyway," Yan Yan asked, "You still have the medicine, right?"

"I do, don't worry," Ming Chu gave a firm answer.

Yan Yan felt relieved.

She moved the cutting board with extreme caution, careful not to block the light.

But nothing happened.

The soldier insect, already somewhat crushed, lay motionless. It was truly dead. Ming Chu noticed something peculiar inside the section she had shredded. Instead of touching it, she pulled out a pair of tweezers and a glass bottle.

She picked up the head section first and placed it into the glass bottle, then Yan Yan crouched down to inspect the rest.

Finally, she used the tweezers to extract a translucent object the size of a mung bean.

The object was a murky yellow color, shaped like a cluster of grapes. It felt slightly soft, but when Yan Yan poked it with a needle, it wouldn't pierce.

This thing was actually incredibly difficult to destroy.

After putting this item into another glass bottle, Ming Chu began gathering the rest of the glass containers.

She used standard-sized bottles for the shredded insect remains and soil, and a large bottle for the bulk of the rear half of the insect carcass that had been hacked into several pieces.

That's right, even though she felt the soldier insect was dead, Ming Chu remained cautious, terrified that the rear half might still be active.
