Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Xiao Cong ended up staying in Ming Chu's room. The only male, Wen Zheng, slept on a folding bed, while Xiao Cong slept on Wen Zheng's bed. Even after returning, she remained in a semi-conscious state.
When Ming Chu moved her to the bed, she touched her hand; the icy skin felt devoid of any vitality.
Ming Chu tucked the blanket around her, confirming she was at least still breathing, before feeling relieved.
The room had six beds, two of which were bunk beds, and two single beds. Ming Chu slept on a single bed, while Xiao Cong was on the bottom bunk next to her, with Yan Yan sleeping on the top bunk.
Ming Chu and Xiao Cong were even sleeping head-to-head.
They didn't go to the cafeteria for breakfast but instead took some food from Ming Chu's storage space. After eating, everyone lay down to sleep first.
Xiao Cong was sleeping very poorly.
To be precise, she had been feeling unwell since last night.
The first time she drank the purified water Ming Chu gave her, she felt the chill in her bones subside, but when she slept, she could feel the cold sweeping back in.
In fact, Xiao Cong wasn't completely unconscious at the time; she just couldn't control her body. She felt clearly that she was on the verge of death.
But she had only lived two days of peaceful life!
She didn't want to die!
However, some things cannot be resisted by willpower alone. No matter how unwilling Xiao Cong was, she knew she couldn't reverse death.
But she hadn't said goodbye to her sister yet... She hadn't told her sister that she liked her and enjoyed the life she'd had these past two days.
Xiao Cong felt both angry and powerless.
She seemed to be watching herself turn into an Eerie when she suddenly fell into a warm embrace.
Then, she was fed a bottle of purified water.
The water flowed into her body, both painful and warm. She felt as if she had been pulled back from the edge of death.
