Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Ming Chu waited for Zhong Shuang to return for a meal, and after letting her know, she left behind the materials from her inventory and set off.
This time, she brought Lan Qi along.
When leaving the ship, Ming Chu had her face covered, but once they were well away from the area, she and Lan Qi changed into regular clothes.
While it was referred to as the inland, China had already shrunk by nearly half. The land was crowded with people, but there were also those with cars and resources. Ming Chu and Lan Qi, driving a vehicle, didn't attract any attention at all.
Bai Jing had already made contact with people in the Sichuan and Tibet regions. These two areas also had liaisons, and eventually, they all ended up in the same group chat.
There were four people in the group: Ming Chu (Chenxi), Bai Jing, Wang Liang from the Sichuan region, and Agemu from the Tibet region.
The inland was too crowded now, so sometimes Ming Chu and Lan Qi would abandon their car to walk, as it was faster to cut through the mountains and forests.
They mostly drove when one of them needed to rest, taking turns driving and sleeping. With their coordination and the reduced landmass, Ming Chu arrived in the Sichuan region 18 hours after coming ashore.
"@Wang Liang from Sichuan, send me your location. I'm almost there."
"[Location]. How long until you arrive, Comrade Chenxi? Do you need backup?"
"No need. Don't worry about me for now."
Ming Chu's reply was cold and aloof, but the Sichuan region, the Tibet region, and even other cities were already well aware of Chenxi's reputation. Although they couldn't see Chenxi's files—as almost no one had the clearance—some information was public knowledge.
For instance, Comrade Chenxi liked things to be quick and decisive, and she generally didn't need help unless she required bait.
Furthermore, she didn't like being monitored or photographed.
So, Wang Liang from Sichuan acknowledged the message and then typed seriously: "If you are about to take action, Comrade Chenxi, please let us know so we can destroy the surveillance."
Very sensible.
Ming Chu gave them a mental thumbs-up and replied coldly: "Mm."
Even this cold reply was enough to put Wang Liang at ease.
Although Ming Chu hadn't made it to the Tibet region yet, Agemu also felt much more secure.
