Chapter 391: Jumping In

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

Everyone had actually anticipated that the seawater would rise.

It had been pouring rain outside, a deluge so intense it felt as if the sky had been torn open; any rise in water levels was to be expected.

It was just that they hadn't expected it to happen so quickly.

Ming Chu had only booked the room for two days because she knew the seaside would likely be submerged soon, but now... the water had already flooded the first floor.

As soon as Ming Chu took out her earplugs, she heard the chaotic noise.

"Half of the first floor is already flooded. The guesthouse owner said she called for rescue, and the rescue team shouldn't be too late, so we have to stay here for now," Xu Ruo said, explaining the current situation.

It was fortunate that it wasn't peak tourist season, so there weren't many people in the city or staying at the guesthouse.

Those whose rooms were on the third floor were still holding steady, but those on the second floor had already scrambled to change rooms, moving up to the fourth or fifth floors.

When Ming Chu woke up, she checked the time; it was 6:30 PM, but when she stood by the window to look out, she saw only pitch-black darkness.

"Many places have lost power. Our guesthouse has electricity only because of a generator, but it's limited to the third through fifth floors. The owner said we need to conserve power. By the way, they delivered lunch and dinner earlier; do you want to eat?"

"No," Ming Chu shook her head. She waved her hand, "Let's have something good today. We don't know if it will be convenient later."

To pose as ordinary non-players, they had to keep a low profile.

They might as well eat well while they still could.

No one objected, so the lunch and dinner bento boxes were placed into Ming Chu's space. Since the meals didn't contain seafood and Yan Yan had already tested them and confirmed they were edible, they shouldn't be wasted; they could be eaten later.

As for today, after a quick discussion, they decided to have a barbecue!

Ming Chu had plenty of barbecue supplies in her space, and they didn't even need to grill it themselves; they could just eat what was ready.

As Lan Qi ate, she sighed, "It's more fun to grill as you eat."

Ming Chu silently produced a small grill and some charcoal.
