Chapter 388: The Bizarre Octopus

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

Even in this kind of weather, the seawater was not particularly cold.

The moment Ming Chu and her two companions hit the water, the earpieces of their combat suits transformed into fully enclosed, transparent helmets. They looked like smooth, round spheres that neither obstructed their vision nor hindered their breathing.

However, the rain and waves were so intense that the seawater had become murky, making it nearly impossible to see what was around them.

"You two head to the safe house and squeeze in for a bit. I'll let you out once we reach the destination."

As Ming Chu spoke, she grabbed both of them and tossed them toward the safe house.

The bracelet on her wrist flashed, and the two vanished.

[Portable Safe House: S-Rank. Defense: SSS-Rank; internal space is 15 square meters when minimized.]

A 15-square-meter space wasn't exactly small, but Xu Ruo and Wen Zheng were both bewildered.

Still, since they were already inside, what else could they do?

With a silent understanding, Xu Ruo and Wen Zheng sat cross-legged, waiting for Ming Chu to let them out.

Outside, Ming Chu was in her element. Although the water was murky, she had Mengmeng to guide her. She just needed to aim for the deeper areas and swim. About three minutes later, Ming Chu finally left the turbid zone.

The seabed in this weather wasn't exactly bright, but Ming Chu had night vision, so she adjusted well to the environment; she didn't even need to turn on a light.

Glancing toward the safe house, she noticed Xu Ruo and Wen Zheng had taken off their helmets. After a moment's thought, she slipped a note inside.

[Put on your helmets, I will bring you out.]

The handwriting was Mengmeng's, so it looked round and cute.

Once they had their helmets on, Ming Chu let them out.

While massive waves churned on the surface, the seabed was actually quite calm, creating a strange sense of disconnection.

Ming Chu pointed in a direction and told Xu Ruo and Wen Zheng, "I want to see if I can find that octopus from earlier. If it's still there, I want to see its full form."
