Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
It wasn't until the next day that Aloshi and the others discovered Ming Chu had disappeared.
It started when Aloshi woke up and began clamoring for Ming Chu to get him some water, insisting he wanted a good soak to return in top condition.
When he didn't get an answer after calling out several times, he ended up waking everyone else up instead.
Hu Lin, Xiao Jiang, Xu Liu, and Zhang Liang all rushed out to look for her, but they couldn't find her anywhere.
Hu Lin even went so far as to ask the soldiers guarding the S City base walls, confirming that no one had entered or left during the night.
Inside the RV, the blanket on the bed where Ming Chu had slept was still in a messy heap, as if she had simply vanished into thin air.
"There are no signs of a struggle on the bed. I don't believe anyone in this world could make Ming Chu disappear without a sound and without us noticing," Hu Lin mused for a moment. "It's possible some unexpected situation arose, forcing her to leave early."
Aloshi was a bit anxious. "Is she really okay?"
"She'll be fine," Hu Lin said with great certainty. "Or do you think that if even that meteor couldn't threaten her, someone could just sneak in and snatch her away now?"
In truth, Hu Lin's confidence also stemmed from checking her contact list; Ming Chu was still listed as online. Those who died would go offline, and their avatars would disappear entirely.
"That's true." Aloshi thought about it and scratched his head. "Maybe she just had something come up and left on her own, though I guess I won't be able to have that bath now."
No longer worried, Aloshi's attention shifted right back to bathing.
Hu Lin was choked up by his rapid change of subject, then waved her hand. "We'll brush our teeth and wash our faces in a bit; you can use whatever water is left in the RV's tank."
"Great!" Aloshi had no idea what being polite meant.
He watched until everyone else had finished washing up, then ran into the small RV bathroom to douse himself with water.
He used up the entire tank of water, and when he came out, an overly happy Aloshi forgot to restrain his charm, stunning everyone else the moment he appeared.
He rolled his eyes right then and there. "Why are you all staring at me like that?"
