Chapter 310: The Valley

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

With a bowl of hot porridge, skewers of fragrant roasted meat, and large pots of stir-fried dishes—five meat and two vegetable—the players and survivors who had endured the grueling forced march to the safe house were absolutely stunned.

"Wait, nobody said we'd be eating this well here!"

"That's because this is just a welcome meal for today. From tomorrow on, you'll have to cook for yourselves; Chang Zhou can't handle it all alone." Ming Chu pointed toward a large pot of steamed buns. "Eat as much as you like of these; I have more if you run out. The tents are over there, too. Go claim your spots, and if we run out of tents, some of you will have to sleep outside."

"No problem! We were already prepared for that before we left!"

"I can build some temporary shelters. If we squeeze in, we can fit quite a few people." This came from the player whose talent was architecture.

"We're used to sleeping in the wild in the forest." This was from one of the official players.

Everyone accepted the arrangements well, especially after eating; everyone couldn't help but think how lucky they were to have come.

How could this meal be so delicious?

How did they roast this meat?

Why did it taste better than anything they had eaten before?

And these steamed buns—how could they be this fragrant?

Even the stir-fried dishes were all so incredibly tasty.

As they ate, they felt a pang of regret that they wouldn't be able to enjoy Chang Zhou's cooking every day after this.

Watching everyone wolfing down their food, Chang Zhou smiled until his eyes crinkled. "I'm glad you all like it! Once we finish the first phase of work here, I'll cook another feast for everyone!"

He was happy to do it, and Ming Chu wouldn't stop him.

Furthermore, with the promise of another meal, everyone's enthusiasm was clearly boosted.

Before they had even finished eating, someone holding their bowl couldn't wait to ask Ming Chu, "When do we start working?"

"We haven't even decided on the location yet," Ming Chu said, torn between laughter and tears.

A baby-faced young man raised his hand. "Actually, I know of a valley that seems quite suitable for building a base. It's just a bit close to the Divine Tree, only about 20 kilometers away. Should we go take a look?"
