Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Before Chu Xin left, Ming Chu gave her a bag of sweet potato chips.
Can't let her leave empty-handed, right?
Chu Xin: "..."
How long had it been since she experienced the peace-time custom of receiving a small gift before leaving?
Chu Xin's expression was very subtle as she returned to the 18th floor with the chips. When she opened the door and entered, her teammates were stunned.
"Where did you buy this? We haven't seen this before!" a teammate said in disbelief.
The main issue was that resources were scarce, and few people would waste so much oil to fry sweet potato chips or fries, which tasted good but weren't filling.
So, Chu Xin's teammates looked at the bag of snacks in her hand with glowing eyes.
"Everyone, share some and have a little." Chu Xin handed it to the youngest girl, telling her to open it, and explained, "It was given to me by the people upstairs. One of them is a great cook, and they aren't short on resources."
"I can see they aren't short on resources. Not many people can waste supplies like this." A man with his arms crossed looked coldly at the chips, only to have the girl next to him sneak a piece into his mouth.
The sweet potato chip was fragrant, sweet, and crispy. He subconsciously pursed his lips and crushed it.
The crumbled chips fell into his mouth, and he chewed many times without realizing it.
When he came to his senses, he froze.
"Uncle Xu, is it good?"
The girl covered her mouth and giggled.
Uncle Xu's brow twitched violently. He felt embarrassed and couldn't bring himself to be angry.
After a long while, he asked Chu Xin in a muffled voice, "You didn't say anything you shouldn't have, did you?"
"No." Chu Xin shook her head.
Uncle Xu took the opportunity to change the subject. He pondered for a moment and said, "Since they have the ability, I approve of your plan to recruit them. As long as half of the others agree, you can go ahead."
