Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
It was the 29th day since arriving in the other world.
The first batch of survivors moved out of the base and reached the valley. Above were healthy young people; below were the elderly, children, pregnant women, and the sick.
Yes, even some frail patients had followed in this first wave.
"Even though I'm sick, I still want to see what the real world looks like," they said with smiles.
Miss Zhao was the one handling the relocation. By the time the day of the move arrived and most people had already left, the school doctor rushed over with his own group.
He looked at Miss Zhao, his brows furrowed tightly. "What are you doing? Where are you taking them?"
"To see the outside world." Miss Zhao looked at the school doctor. "Are you here to stop me?"
The doctor's brow furrowed even deeper. He looked at Miss Zhao as if she were a willful child, helpless. "Did you hear some alarmist nonsense? Do you know how dangerous it is out there? You're leading them to their deaths!"
His words were harsh, but neither Miss Zhao nor the remaining people behind her who hadn't left yet showed the slightest bit of panic.
This time, it was the school doctor who was stunned.
Only then did Miss Zhao sneer and say, "Do you think they don't know it's dangerous outside and that they might die? Yet they are still willing to go out with me, because no one wants to keep shrinking away in the darkness underground forever."
"You watch the sun rise and set in the sky—have you ever actually seen the real sun?"
Miss Zhao's tone wasn't very heavy, but it felt like a heavy blow to the school doctor's heart.
It wasn't just the doctor; even the people he brought were a bit unsettled. Someone couldn't help but ask, "What sun? You can see the sun?"
"I have seen it." Miss Zhao spread her hands. "And I didn't die."
This was the strongest evidence.
