Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
The Mind Reader's brain, sluggish from a lack of sleep, took nearly a minute to process the long string of words Ming Chu had just spoken. Once it finally clicked, her eyes widened, and she stared at Ming Chu in disbelief.
Ming Chu squeezed her hand, signaling her to keep her expression in check.
Although the Mind Reader was a slacker, she wasn't stupid. Seeing that Ming Chu clearly didn't have malicious intent, she naturally wouldn't expose her.
And so, she allowed herself to be tied up obediently—well, in truth, she didn't have the strength to resist anyway. She hung her head, asking listlessly, "What are you doing? We're all classmates. Why are you tying me up? This isn't right."
"Alright, you don't need to put on an act. You 'lunatics' are different. You triggered an alarm just now, did you realize that?" Ming Chu spoke, but to the Mind Reader, the words sounded as if they were muffled by a veil.
It took her a few more seconds to react, and she asked in confusion, "How am I different?"
"You'll find out once you go inside." Ming Chu didn't know the specifics of the difference herself. Under the guise of pinching the Mind Reader's face to observe her reaction, she slipped a physical enhancement pill into her mouth. "Swallow it."
The Mind Reader was somewhat docile; since Ming Chu told her to eat it, she swallowed it in one gulp.
Ming Chu's eyes curved into a smile. Just then, Li Xian arrived, so Ming Chu tied up the Mind Reader and leaned out to look for Wang Rui.
As a result, she saw two figures walking away.
One man and one woman; one was tall, and the other wore pigtails.
"Wang Rui, who is that?" Ming Chu guessed, "Are those the two companions you mentioned before?"
"Yes." Wang Rui nodded, but she had no intention of introducing them to Ming Chu—if she had really wanted to introduce them, she wouldn't have let them walk away.
She followed Ming Chu into the school infirmary and, seeing the tied-up Mind Reader, immediately began to search her.
Even though the girl was already bound, Wang Rui searched her with such tricky, precise movements that she actually managed to pull out several items.
For instance, there was an exquisite eyebrow razor, a YSL lipstick (a brand that did not exist in this world), two Dove chocolates (also a brand unknown to this world), and a small mirror.
"As expected, an intruder." Wang Rui nodded and said to Ming Chu, "I'll record this person for you. You only need two more, and you'll be eligible to take the special alien police exam."
