Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Lights out.
The footsteps of the dormitory warden outside were neither heavy nor light, moving from one door to the next. Ming Chu's breathing was steady; she had already fallen asleep.
It was one o'clock in the morning.
A faint alarm sound went off. Ming Chu climbed out of bed and locked eyes with Wang Rui, who was looking over from the upper bunk opposite her with quiet, calm eyes.
She nodded at Wang Rui, gestured toward the outside, then pointed at the door. Wang Rui followed Ming Chu and got up quietly.
Once Ming Chu had left, Wang Rui closed the door for her before returning to her bed to sleep in silence.
Gu Qing, who was lying next to Wang Rui, quietly opened her eyes just a slit, her heart filled with suspicion and uncertainty.
She had previously regarded Wang Rui as a special target to be wary of, but now, were Ming Chu and Wang Rui working together?
Was Wang Rui also one of the players?
Although Gu Qing speculated, she had no intention of communicating with Wang Rui.
The reason was simple: Ming Chu hadn't given her Wang Rui's name.
Gu Qing worked in cooperation with Ming Chu, focusing only on the names Ming Chu gave her. If Wang Rui wasn't handed over to her, it meant either she was more useful to Ming Chu, or her identity was special.
In short, Gu Qing had a very standard military style of conduct. In the absence of major events, she only did what was within her scope and did not meddle in other affairs.
Unaware of Gu Qing's thoughts, Ming Chu was already heading downstairs.
Whether it was the boys' or girls' dormitory, the first floor was completely enclosed—either by walls and glass or by anti-theft window bars.
Ming Chu didn't have a key to the first-floor exit, so she climbed out from the second-floor corridor.
Hanging by her hands from the second-floor railing, her feet could just reach the anti-theft bars on the first floor. The solid bars were perfectly capable of supporting her weight. With her strong core and steady center of gravity, she squatted down after finding a firm footing and gripped the bars with her fingers.
Landing lightly on the ground, Ming Chu quickly left the dormitory building.
