Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Qiao Hui watched for a long time.
It wasn't until Xu Hanguang returned with a bowl of dumplings that she suddenly came back to her senses and pushed the dagger that had been showing its handle inside her sleeve back in.
'Qiao Hui, are you watching over Ming Chu? Are you hungry? They boiled quite a lot over there, you should go eat some too,' Xu Hanguang greeted Qiao Hui, but her attention remained mostly on Ming Chu.
Hearing their conversation, Ming Chu also woke up.
Her eyes weren't even open yet, but her mouth started craving, 'It smells so good.'
'If it smells good, eat a bit more.' Xu Hanguang put down the bowl, helped Ming Chu up to lean against her, and then began feeding her.
The dumplings were boiled, pork and cabbage filling and chive and egg filling. After being boiled, they didn't leave the soup so they would cool down faster. Xu Hanguang mixed a bit of sauce and added a bit of vinegar; now, every bite was delicious.
Qiao Hui watched from the side as Ming Chu ate those dumplings one by one with vigor. After waiting for a minute or two, she finally said, 'Then I'll go eat too. Sister Xu, have you eaten?'
'It's fine, don't worry about me,' Xu Hanguang waved her hand.
Qiao Hui froze for a moment, but still left.
After she walked away, Xu Hanguang said as if casually, 'I just sent something back.'
'Oh.' Ming Chu only had eyes for the dumplings.
Xu Hanguang's brow twitched. She couldn't help but poke Ming Chu's forehead, 'Only knowing how to eat, shouldn't you explain something to me?'
'Oh my, what's there to explain? Isn't our tacit understanding enough?' Ming Chu had an 'I believe you understand' expression, which made Xu Hanguang so angry she laughed.
Xu Hanguang leaned into her ear, sinisterly, 'I don't seem to recall ever telling you to use yourself as bait, did I?'
Ming Chu bit into a pork and cabbage dumpling. Because the dumpling at the very bottom was still a bit hot, she rolled it around in her mouth, puffed out her cheeks to blow on it, and then rolled her eyes, 'I could only stop being bait if someone else could be used as bait.'
