Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Before Liu Xu was sent back, she had a meal with Ming Chu.
Ming Chu didn't use the ready-made food she had stockpiled in her secondary space for this meal, but it was still quite a feast.
Once Liu Xu finished eating, she was sent back, and both Liu Yun and Yan Yan began to get busy.
One of them had a talent for medicine, while the other possessed an exceptional gift for insect research. With Academician Lin pulling strings to help them out, Liu Yun was very confident that they could develop a suitable reagent.
Besides, Yan Yan's requirements weren't high; she didn't need to develop a drug to kill the insects, just something to make it quiet down so it wouldn't move so fast.
But research takes time.
Ming Chu stood guard outside, waiting. Less than 10 hours later, things became chaotic over there. Ming Chu's heart skipped a beat, and she had a bad premonition. Sure enough, she heard 'Liu Xu' mentioned amidst the shouting.
She didn't care about anything else and took off running toward Liu Xu's location.
Fortunately, the distance between the two areas wasn't far—or rather, the entire research institute didn't have a large footprint, it just had several floors.
At Ming Chu's speed, she reached Liu Xu's glass room in less than half a minute.
When she arrived, the door to the room had just been opened. Liu Xu was lying on the floor, her body twitching and struggling as if she were in great pain.
"Don't touch her!"
Ming Chu shouted. Taking advantage of the moment they were startled, she squeezed inside and pulled Liu Xu into her arms.
Liu Xu's face was right against her chest, completely shielded from view. Ming Chu produced a syringe, injected it directly into Liu Xu's neck, and pushed the medicine in. Ming Chu let out a sigh of relief. She looked up at the researchers and doctors in white coats who were standing by, looking bewildered and hesitant, and said, "It's fine. We took Liu Xu out today to test a new drug, and this is a normal reaction. No need to worry."
"Really? Then why didn't you report it to us for precautions?" the doctor asked suspiciously.
