Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
The sky was growing dark, but most of the streetlights were on. Although it wasn't as bright as the daytime-like nights before the apocalypse, it was certainly much better than the last time Ming Chu had come out at night.
Occasionally, people still passed by.
Ming Chu rode her electric scooter to the building where Wang Xiaoming lived and started climbing the stairs.
Wang Xiaoming lived in an old apartment building with stairs, on the 5th floor. When Ming Chu knocked on the door, someone answered from inside: "Who is it?"
"I'm looking for Wang Xiaoming," Ming Chu replied.
The door opened, revealing the face of a gentle middle-aged woman. Seeing it was Ming Chu, she was very warm: "Miss Ming? You're back? Xiaoming has been busy outside lately, he should be back in a little while. Would you like to come in and sit for a bit?"
"Then I'll impose," Ming Chu said, and she actually walked inside.
"No imposition at all," Wang's mother said with a smile. "I have to thank you for introducing Xiaoming to a job. We finally feel at ease."
Ming Chu chatted with Wang's mother for a few minutes. She wasn't a cold person to begin with, and Wang's mother enjoyed talking with her.
After waiting about twenty minutes, Wang Xiaoming returned.
He had his own key. After opening the door, the first thing he saw was Ming Chu, who was bundled up tightly. He was pleasantly surprised: "Miss Ming, you're back?"
He said the exact same thing his mother had.
Wang Xiaoming was wearing the set of protective gear Ming Chu had left him. After returning home, he pulled off the gear, revealing a head covered in sweat. He said hurriedly, "Miss Ming, wait for me a moment, I'm going to wash my face first."
