Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
That the bugs would eat people directly was unexpected to Ming Chu, but not entirely surprising.
Thinking back carefully, when Ming Chu first saw a host explode, those bugs were indeed eating human flesh.
It was just that there were so many bug carcasses on the ground at the time that Ming Chu assumed their primary food source was the corpses of their own kind.
But now it seemed that wasn't the case.
"Take these few bugs. Burn them every so often. If there are more bugs later, keep some for yourself, at least... don't let people explode."
Ming Chu gave five bugs to Platoon Leader Yu.
These bugs had been caught by Liu Yun and Zhang Ming. Especially Zhang Ming, who had caught them with Ming Chu before and now did it reflexively. He had caught over a dozen, though they were kept separately.
Now that they had given them to Platoon Leader Yu, the Cheetah Squad captain, Wind Leopard, also spoke to him about their plan to travel separately.
If it were earlier, Platoon Leader Yu might not have understood, but now, he just gave a bitter smile: "Fine, you have your mission. You go ahead. We won't be able to leave today either."
Wind Leopard patted Platoon Leader Yu on the shoulder: "Be careful. There might be more infected people outside. Be mindful when you burn the bugs."
"Right."
Platoon Leader Yu wiped his face and went to settle the survivors.
As for Ming Chu and her group, they finally set off.
They were in Rong City and heading to S City. The straight-line distance was only 500 kilometers. Although the city was in chaos, the road conditions hadn't been significantly affected.
Some roads in between were blocked, but Wind Leopard and his team could access satellites and even had military drones, so even if a road was blocked, they could take detours and choose suitable routes.
Because of this, even though they didn't leave until 3:30 PM, by the time they stopped at 6:00 PM, they had almost cleared the city.
Along the way, Ming Chu looked at the overly quiet city, her mood complex.
She didn't know when the hidden danger of the parasites would erupt. Although she had a space, had taken two physical enhancement pills, and had hoarded plenty of guns and ammunition, Ming Chu knew very well that her individual strength was insignificant in the face of the world.
