Chapter 36: Father Lin's Strange Request

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

Back at the doctor's office, Ming Chu maintained her skeptical attitude and asked directly.

"Why did you order so many blood draws when my friend's medical file still exists? Will you be responsible if something goes wrong?"

"Each blood tube only takes 3-5 milliliters. I've calculated it; she would have at most 60 milliliters taken. That's only 60 milliliters, which is within the safe range even for a pregnant woman."

The doctor didn't care about Ming Chu's questioning and explained earnestly, "No one knows how zombies appeared, nor does anyone know what impact the appearance of zombies has on humans. As a pregnant woman, her body is more fragile. The test data from before the apocalypse might not be the same as after."

"Precisely monitoring the physical state of pregnant women is what we doctors should do."

Ming Chu said, "Oh," then added, "What you said actually makes a lot of sense."

The doctor was surprised that Ming Chu stopped nitpicking and said, "Then continue with the blood draw."

"...But I don't want to listen," Ming Chu finished her sentence.

The timing was so coincidental that the doctor suspected she was just looking for trouble.

Ming Chu looked innocent as she held Lin Meng's arm. "We just got back, and she's not in good health. Never mind 60 milliliters; she can't even afford to lose 10."

The doctor's mouth twitched violently, and she took a step back. "Then go draw two tubes. At least two tubes, otherwise I can't perform the check-up."

"Fine." Ming Chu knew when to quit.

15 tubes became two. Lin Meng had been quietly playing the role of a mute, following Ming Chu back out. After the blood was drawn, the report would be ready in the afternoon, and now Lin Meng was eager to go home.

Safe Zone 17 was generally divided into East and West districts. The East District was the location of the military base and where military personnel were currently housed.

The West District was four or five times larger than the East and was a residential area, which was further divided into an inner and outer zone.

The inner zone had been walled off during the first two days of the apocalypse. The walls were only five meters high, and the area wasn't very large, serving as a gathering place for the wealthy and powerful. Without family assets or strength, one couldn't live there.
