Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
The speed of the vehicle slowed down.
Ming Chu and Lin Meng were in the safest part of the back cabin, but while they were safe, they were unable to see what was happening outside.
Lin Meng gripped Ming Chu's hand tightly. "What... what exactly is happening outside?"
"I don't know." Even as Ming Chu said she didn't know, she suddenly recalled her dream.
In that dream, the thing that killed her was something she cared about deeply.
The inside of the vehicle wasn't necessarily perfectly safe either. Ming Chu pulled Lin Meng toward the partition between the back and front cabins, where there was a small window. She tentatively knocked on it. "Is anyone out there?"
"Don't come out, there's a troublesome monster out here." Xu Ruo's urgent voice sounded from outside the door. "We have plenty of ammunition, so don't worry too much about us. Just protect yourself and Lin Meng."
"Okay." Ming Chu didn't open the small window, nor did she look at the situation outside.
Listening to the continuous crunching and the sounds of the vehicle being struck, she understood that no matter what abilities the thing outside had, even if those sharp appendages could pierce her body, they couldn't pierce this thick vehicle cabin.
Ming Chu felt a little more at ease, but she was still very worried about the people outside.
In fact, her worry was not misplaced; the situation outside had indeed reached a stalemate.
The jolting Ming Chu had felt at the beginning was because when Xu Ruo was driving, a force had dragged at the rear. Fortunately, the RV had a heavy chassis with high curb weight and load capacity, so that impact was just a jolt. Xu Ruo gripped the steering wheel tightly, and the vehicle didn't flip over.
The drag at the back was actually broken off quickly. Xu Ruo could feel that something had been dragging behind them. She had already slowed down, and when it pulled at them again, she was able to stabilize the vehicle completely, without the jolting of the first time.
But they couldn't shake the thing off, and they couldn't just keep tangling with it forever.
Xu Ruo said decisively, "I'm going to stop the car."
"Fine, let's go see together what exactly is out there." Since the mutation, Xu Pan had possessed boundless energy, and now, that boundless energy had turned into an off-the-charts desire to fight.
