Chapter 17: Galaxy Tower

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

Ming Chu had always assumed that taking Lin Meng home meant going to the safe zone, but what if Lin Meng's home wasn't within the safe zone's boundaries?

What if Lin Meng's home was safe enough that she didn't plan on going to the safe zone within the next thirty days?

How would she persuade her then?

Xu Ruo fell silent. "Don't tell me you haven't considered that?"

"Since the Infinite Train app gave me the mission, shouldn't I just be responsible for handling the dangers we encounter along the way?" Ming Chu asked.

She had gone out of her way to recruit Xu Ruo into the team and was personally protecting Lin Meng. Wasn't that enough?

This was only a novice world, after all!

"...Forget it, maybe I'm overthinking things," Xu Ruo said candidly after a brief silence. "Anyway, there's no penalty mentioned."

That was true.

Ming Chu stopped feeling nervous. Only a tenth of the time had passed; she still had plenty of time to find a way to get Lin Meng to the safe zone.

For now, the priority was getting Lin Meng home safely. A pregnant woman wandering around outside was far too worrying.

Xu Ruo half-supported, half-carried Ming Chu into the convenience store she had cleared out earlier.

It wasn't a large shop, just a typical twenty-four-hour convenience store. To the right of the entrance was the checkout counter, which held an oden machine, a transparent steamer for buns, and a sausage roller.

The weather wasn't too hot yet, but clearly, no one dared to eat those buns, sausages, or oden now.

That wasn't what Xu Ruo was after, anyway. She first selected some bread with a seven-day shelf life, then grabbed high-calorie candies and spicy strips drenched in chili oil.

She also picked up marinated eggs, chocolate, and other snacks.

Xu Ruo was restrained with the self-heating rice, taking only three boxes, but she also grabbed several cans of fruit.

Ming Chu looked inward at her storage space, her gaze eventually landing on the cardboard boxes.
