Chapter 10: A Great Harvest

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

Ming Chu had long since emptied her survival pack, specifically to make room for weapons.

That sniper rifle had to be kept in plain sight because Ming Chu still needed to learn how to assemble it and how to shoot from Brother Wang.

Therefore, Ming Chu's goal was to smuggle as many bullets and grenades as possible!

That's right, grenades were weapons Brother Wang had almost given up on, but Ming Chu needed them badly!

As the saying goes: it's not just for this world, but for the next one too!

Who knew if she would have such good conditions in the next world?

"Five grenades are enough. Take two, and don't use them unless I tell you to," Brother Wang instructed, handing five grenades to Ming Chu.

Ming Chu carefully placed the grenades into the compartments of her pack, and then Brother Wang took her to find handguns.

Although there were forty or fifty guns here, there were only three models, and the ammunition for two of them was interchangeable.

Brother Wang gave Ming Chu a brief introduction and then chose the one with the lowest recoil for her.

He then brought her 200 rounds of ammunition.

This was the amount Ming Chu could carry, and as for the rest, Brother Wang estimated the space and started grabbing his own supplies.

While he was busy selecting firearms and ammo, Ming Chu walked over to the grenade crate as if by accident, moved the top crate aside, and started taking from the ones underneath.

The grenade crates weren't large, holding about 15 grenades each, but even with modern anti-explosion packaging, the grenades were packed tightly, leaving quite a bit of empty space between them.

Ming Chu removed the padding, instantly freeing up a third of the space.

Combined with her storage ability, she could fit 40 grenades into one crate's worth of space.

The crate itself wasn't big; if packed normally, it would take up about a quarter of her storage space, but after repacking, it only took up an eighth.

Since her suitcase storage space still had an entire suitcase's worth of room left after taking out so many items, it meant Ming Chu could take at most eight crates.

Of course, among these eight crates, she would only take 3 crates of grenades, 4 crates of bullets, and one crate for spare firearms.

Ming Chu was quick; the grenades were in a corner, so she finished packing them rapidly, put the 5 crates into her storage, and seeing Brother Wang busy picking guns, she quickly ran to the bullet crates and started packing them.

One crate of bullets held 500 rounds, so five crates meant 2,500 rounds.

Did Brother Wang not notice her actions?

Of course he did.

But he didn't know Ming Chu had a spatial storage. He didn't stop her greed, just thinking that if the pack couldn't hold what he needed later, he would naturally make Ming Chu take out the excess.

Completely unaware of what Brother Wang was thinking, Ming Chu was satisfied and finally stuffed three more grenades into the gaps. Her storage was truly full this time.

There wasn't a single gap left!

"Put these things in," Brother Wang gestured to Ming Chu.

Ming Chu ran over and started packing the guns and ammo sitting on the large crate.

When a third was packed, Brother Wang was still thinking that Ming Chu hadn't gone overboard packing things for herself.

When half was packed, he thought, Ming Chu knows what she's doing; maybe she just miscalculated the space. Indeed, her marksmanship was poor, so he could leave her a bit more ammo.

When the table was clean, Brother Wang's cold expression cracked for the first time, and he looked at the survival pack in disbelief: "Did you not take anything just now?"

"I took a little bit," Ming Chu made a gesture for 'a little' and let Brother Wang look at the pack. "Brother Wang, do you want to take more? The pack isn't full yet, but you can test the weight. I can't carry any more, but if you can, you can still take some."

Brother Wang: "..."

He used to train with a fifty-kilogram load!

How could he not be able to carry this?

But they were also trained in storage and organization, and when on missions, a pack would be stuffed to the brim. He had clearly prepared items based on capacity, so how could the pack still be empty?

Brother Wang doubted reality, but when Ming Chu pressed on the pack, there was indeed still some space.

If there was a chance to take more supplies, of course he would take more.

Brother Wang estimated and took some more.

After putting them in, Ming Chu said the same thing: "It can still hold a bit more."

Brother Wang: "..."

Brother Wang silently took a bit more.

It wasn't until the third time that Ming Chu said: "That's about it."

Brother Wang let out a huge sigh of relief. He looked at the backpack with a sense of awe and reached out to lift it.

Sure enough, it wasn't a normal weight.

He looked at Ming Chu, who remained exceptionally calm.

Since she was already doing a side quest, she couldn't pass up the chance to get more weapons and reduce the mission risk, right?

As for whether she had exposed some of her oddities?

Her mission was just to deliver Lin Meng to the safe zone. She didn't even have to go inside; she just needed to survive 30 days to get on the train.

Of course, that was based on the assumption that Brother Wang and his group were unreliable.

If they were reliable, Ming Chu didn't mind playing along with their antics.

Besides, she had a trump card.

Sure enough, Brother Wang didn't ask much, just took another look at her pack, wondering what he was thinking.

Brother Wang ended up carrying the pack. He even chose an extra gun for Ming Chu and gave her three magazines: "Take these. I'll teach you how to use them when we have time. We brought plenty of ammo; it's enough."

"Okay, thank you, Brother Wang."

Ming Chu continued to follow behind Brother Wang, so he didn't see her silently take two more guns and stuff them into her storage.

This time it was truly full; it really couldn't hold anything else.

After closing the armory door, the policewoman left them with an extra card. After swiping the card to take the elevator upstairs, Brother Wang first attached a silencer to his gun.

Then he told Ming Chu: "Attach the silencer. I'll teach you how to shoot outside."

The zombies blocked by the gate were the best live targets.

Brother Wang first showed Ming Chu how to engage the safety and how to change magazines, then taught her the correct shooting stance.

If nothing else, Ming Chu had been a good student since she was a child, and her body was quite obedient. She corrected her movements step by step and fired her first shot.

With the silencer on, the volume of the gunshot became manageable.

But Ming Chu's accuracy was not. She aimed for the head and hit the shoulder.

"Not bad. At least you hit the target on your first shot."

Brother Wang was quite satisfied. He reminded Ming Chu: "I'll give you one magazine's worth of time to practice. Those two over there are for you."

Ming Chu silently aimed at the two zombies on the far edge. A magazine held 7 bullets, leaving her with six. Ming Chu gave herself five minutes, with the goal of simply not missing the target.

Perhaps it was because Ming Chu's mentality was too laid-back, or perhaps it was because she knew she had over two thousand bullets in her storage, so she was very relaxed.

In any case, before the last shot, on the fifth shot, she hit one of the zombies in the head.

The bullet didn't hit the hardest part of the skull, but instead, by some stroke of luck, went in through the eye.

The zombie fell to the ground instantly.

Even Ming Chu was shocked by herself.

Brother Wang praised: "Not bad."

Ming Chu steadied herself, trying to recall the feeling. The sixth shot didn't miss, and the seventh shot hit a zombie's head again.

"Very good. Now, as I taught you, change the magazine, engage the safety, and let's go find a car."
