Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
There were quite a lot of people sleeping in Ming Chu's room that night.
It was truly packed; two people were sleeping under the bed, a group of men were on the floor, and Ming Chu and Yan Yan were on the bed.
It was only a 1.2-meter-wide bed, and it was only thanks to Ming Chu and Yan Yan both being on the slender side that they could fit.
Because the protective shield was active, Zhang Yang and the others slept very soundly. They didn't know that after they fell asleep, Ming Chu had compressed the height of the shield to about half a meter.
Consequently, starting at 11:00 PM, there were quite a few visitors.
Of course, these visitors checked in but never checked out, so after two hours, the room became quiet.
"That's it? They're not coming anymore?" Ming Chu looked at the Eerie containment vessel, which was still half-empty, and sighed with regret. "They don't have a shred of adventurous spirit."
Yan Yan, who was also on the bed: "..."
She let out a yawn: "It's just as well we get some sleep. We don't know what the situation will be like tomorrow. I asked earlier; the longer we stay, the easier it is to be contaminated. We probably can't rely on our own physical fitness to hold out for too long."
Ming Chu gave a hum of agreement and took out another protective shield, one designed to only protect the two of them on the bed, even isolating them from the two people under the bed.
She was saving people, but that didn't mean she had to expend energy guarding against those she had rescued while she was trying to sleep.
Fortunately, the second half of the night was quiet and uneventful.
Zhang Yang and the others were well-rested because they had slept so soundly, and they looked much better after waking up.
"I left food for you in the room. Don't go out unless necessary, and I've left some talismans for you as well. Be careful and protect yourselves," Ming Chu said. As usual, she left a bottle of purified water and then headed out at 4:50 AM.
It wasn't dawn outside yet—or rather, the sky inside the Eerie Domain almost never brightened.
There was no one around as she walked along. By the time she reached the nurse's station to sign in, she nearly collided with the head nurse, who had approached silently.
"So, you're here," the head nurse grinned, though she didn't look particularly happy.
The head nurse stared at Ming Chu with a sinister gaze: "You really are... dedicated."
"It's all thanks to your guidance, Head Nurse. Aren't I just learning from you?" Ming Chu’s eyes curved into crescents, completely unfazed by the intimidation.
The head nurse sneered and said nothing more, proceeding to sign in herself.
