Chapter 439: 379 People Still Alive

Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train

This waterspout lasted for nearly two hours, ravaging the entire city and even hitting a third of the neighboring city.

The city seemed to have become a paradise for aquatic life. Those creatures that usually struggled to get ashore were dumped onto land, where they squirmed, bounced, or crawled. For a moment, it felt as if the city had been occupied.

Moreover, after mutating, ninety percent of these aquatic creatures could survive for a significant amount of time even after leaving the water.

Beyond that, there were still survivors who hadn't fully evacuated, some dead and some alive, scattered throughout the city.

Many of them had become food for these aquatic creatures.

Wang San was one such unlucky soul who had fallen and injured his leg; though he wasn't dead yet, he was on the verge of being eaten by a crab.

He gripped his military knife tightly. Even though he knew he was no match for these mutated monsters, he refused to give up easily. If he could at least leave a single wound on this monster, his death wouldn't be in vain!

The mutated crab's massive pincer snapped directly toward him. If it caught him, Wang San figured he would be snapped in half.

Just as the pincer was about to land on him, a figure flashed by.

A silver blade of light struck the most vulnerable point where the crab's massive pincer connected to its body. After a crisp sound, the pincer froze and then fell off.

But Wang San didn't feel relieved by the pincer falling off; instead, he felt a sense of helpless resignation as he closed his eyes to await death.

The pincer was right above him. If it crashed down, that hard pincer, which looked to weigh at least several dozen pounds, would likely cost him his life.

But why did he hear the sound of something being struck, yet feel no additional pain?

Wang San pondered this.

Beside him, a clear, youthful voice spoke up: "Huh? Passed out? Is the injury that bad?"

Before Wang San could react, he felt himself being prodded a few times.

Then the voice sounded even more puzzled: "Although the leg is injured, the wound isn't big. Did you lose a lot of blood before? Or is it an internal injury?"

"I... I'm not dead?" Wang San finally confirmed he was okay. He opened his eyes in a daze, his face full of confusion.
