Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
As the days passed, the group at Professor Wang Rui's lab saw some turnover, with the headcount increasing from seven to eleven.
Some left of their own accord, while others tried to overstep their boundaries.
Those who overstepped didn't fare well upon returning; after all, in such dangerous times, crossing lines was the last thing one should do.
However, the research seemed to be at a standstill, and a vaccine remained elusive.
Ming Chu had already captured two players who gained strength by killing, yet Professor Wang Rui still had no results.
After drawing blood again, Professor Wang Rui added the 17th version of the serum. The blood showed a chemical reaction, but before the professor could celebrate, it dissipated.
Or rather, the medication had been devoured by the blood.
"This shouldn't be happening. Why is there no reaction?" Professor Wang Rui muttered. "What is missing?"
"Grandma." The older brother walked over, holding his sister's hand. After Ming Chu drew his blood, he carefully treated the needle mark on his sister's elbow.
At that exact moment, the dissipating healing energy drifted into the blood sample that was about to be discarded.
A violent reaction occurred within the blood.
Ming Chu was the first to notice; no sound or movement could escape her perception. She instinctively looked down at the two children and quickly called out to Professor Wang Rui, "Professor, look!"
Professor Wang Rui looked over instinctively and saw the reacting blood.
It was the reaction she had been waiting for.
It caused the blood of the Blood-Crazy patients to revert to ordinary, perhaps slightly toxic, blood. But that didn't matter; toxins could be purged, and at least they wouldn't be infected.
"Did the medicine work?" Professor Wang Rui asked in disbelief.
