Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
The outbreak of the Blood-Crazy disease did not actually begin today. In fact, ever since the day it started raining, cases had been popping up in various parts of the country.
However, those initial outbreaks occurred outside the base perimeters, mostly in villages and towns where people were unwilling to leave. The base could only dispatch teams to clear those areas.
They relied on long-range kills to minimize casualties as much as possible.
But this time, the panic was caused by the fact that the outbreak had occurred inside the base itself.
Ming Chu was actually relieved that Professor Wang Rui had not yet returned to the S City base. It wasn't that she feared for the professor's safety, but rather that she worried someone might find out the professor was bringing in a living Blood-Crazy patient, which would invite unwanted scrutiny or criticism.
Ming Chu was now essentially living under the protection of the S City base, especially since Professor Wang Rui required a secure environment.
So, upon hearing that a group of Blood-Crazy patients was spreading the infection within the S City base, she went straight to Hu Lin. "You stay here to protect Professor Wang Rui. Aloshi and I will go inside to help."
Before leaving, she double-checked that the chains on the young Blood-Crazy patient were secure, gagged him again, and had Aloshi wash the professor's clothes and lock the laboratory, only then feeling at ease enough to depart.
She entered the base alongside the captain of the Blade Squad.
The Blade captain had only brought his strategist. Upon seeing Ming Chu and the elegant, beautiful Aloshi behind her, his expression flickered with complexity. "Are you sure you want to go in there and risk your life with me?"
"Enough talk," Ming Chu reminded him. "Let's get this straight: I'm only here to help clear out the Blood-Crazy patients. I'll be leaving afterward, and I won't be participating in any medical screenings."
"Fine," the Blade captain wiped his face. "You aren't even living in the base, so what does it matter if you're screened or not?"
The base gates were tightly shut, but the Blade captain had the authority to open a small side door. He led Ming Chu and her group inside. The moment they entered, the sound of chaos reached Ming Chu's ears.
"I'll take the west side. Aloshi, you go to the east. Blade captain, remember what you promised me," Ming Chu said, and then she leaped onto the third floor.
