Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
The captain of the Blade Team woke up an hour and a half later.
Before he even opened his eyes, he sensed that something was wrong.
How could he have suddenly fallen asleep during a mission? Given their physical conditioning and stamina, they could go three days and nights without sleep and still be full of energy, let alone accidentally dozing off on duty!
The captain rolled over and sprang to his feet, his suspicious and alert gaze immediately landing on Ming Chu and her group.
"What did you do?"
"Wait, wait, Captain, don't get excited!" A young soldier nearby quickly grabbed his captain, then offered Ming Chu an apologetic smile, apologizing first, "Miss Ming, please don't mind him. Our captain didn't mean anything by it; he just doesn't know the situation yet."
He held onto the captain tightly, and two others nearby stood up as well: "That's right, Captain, don't be impulsive. Listen to our explanation."
The captain paused, looking at his teammates with suspicion. But his teammates were genuinely anxious and didn't look like they were being threatened. He remained half-convinced; he didn't sit back down, but he stopped turning toward Ming Chu's side.
The young soldiers then began to explain what had happened in a flurry of voices. When he learned that his vice-captain was a so-called 'player' from another world and had intended to slander Professor Wang Rui, he was stunned.
If these weren't the teammates he had led for years, he would have suspected they had all defected.
After all, the vice-captain was the comrade who had been with him the longest—they had been together for eight years!
In those eight years, they had been through thick and thin, and he didn't even know how many times they had saved each other's lives.
But now, they were telling him that the vice-captain was a so-called player.
Was his memory real or fake?
The captain felt lost.
The young team members nearby didn't feel any better. Not to mention the captain who hadn't seen the scene, even those of them who had witnessed it with their own eyes didn't want to believe it.
But as uncomfortable as it was, they still had to persuade him.
