Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Divine Tree Base.
The final scream coming through the phone left the missile launch pad in silence.
The call had been disconnected, and no one answered when they tried calling back. Everyone's expression was extremely grim.
"What's going on? Why did they suddenly riot? We hadn't even made a move yet!"
One of them couldn't help but curse.
The others regained their senses, their faces equally grim and filled with panic.
They had specifically intended to catch the Divine Tree side off guard. They had even contacted people there to confirm that the beasts were tired after guarding all night and that many were lying on the ground sleeping before they decided to act.
As it turned out, they were the ones caught off guard.
"Those beasts won't fight their way all the way to the base, will they?"
Someone suddenly said.
Then, the missile launch pad fell into silence again, a silence filled with panic.
"S-surely not, right? Our base is quite far from the Divine Tree." Someone tried to laugh it off.
If his voice hadn't been shaking so much, he might have been able to provide some reassurance.
"Quick, send people out to scout!!"
Before the words could fade, the voice of the person who had screamed was cut short.
A figure wearing a black tactical suit, with a slender frame and a face completely covered by a mask and hat, revealing only a pair of eyes, appeared before them.
"I'm afraid you'll have to take a nap first."
As she spoke, she moved like a ghost, flashing past as one person after another collapsed.
