Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
"It looks like you're doing well." Ming Chu smiled, winking at Awuh. "See, I told you I'd help you save your brother."
"Thank you, thank you."
The gratitude felt hollow, but right now, besides saying thank you, Awuh didn't know what else she could say to Ming Chu.
She watched as a faint flush of color finally returned to her brother's pale face. She wanted to speak, but tears were the first things to fall.
"Brother, Brother."
Awuh held Shen Chuan carefully, tears streaming down her face in large droplets.
No matter how strong she was, she was only eighteen. Ever since the accident when she was fourteen, she had kept herself tightly restrained.
It wasn't until today, until Shen Chuan stood before her, safe and sound, that she could finally feel a sense of relief.
It felt as if a massive mountain that had been pressing down on her had finally been lifted.
"Awuh, you've suffered." Shen Chuan also felt a pang of heartache for his sister. She was crying so hard, yet she was trying to stifle the sound, her body trembling violently from the intensity of her emotions.
"It's my fault for not taking better care of you."
Shen Chuan felt guilty.
"No, no, you've always been good to me." Awuh shook her head vigorously.
"Alright, stop crying. Since I'm recovering, let's leave the base first. We can't stay here long. Your coming to save me was a trap, and they'll realize it eventually."
Shen Chuan was worried about his sister and her friends.
At the same time, he didn't want to waste this body that had finally been restored.
He planned to return the Divine Fruits to Ming Chu—four of them, perhaps. Returning one extra was a gesture of his sincerity.
"Agreed, let's go," Chu Xin concurred.
