Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
There was an argument happening downstairs.
However, because they were controlling their volume and had specifically soundproofed the area—meaning both the downstairs apartment and the one they were staying in had been specially soundproofed—even Lan Qi and Ming Chu could only hear faint movements and couldn't make out what was happening.
The two exchanged a look and both felt that something was going on with Chu Xin downstairs.
But until they heard a scream for help, neither of them had any intention of going downstairs.
They simply took the opportunity to inspect the apartment again after confirming that the soundproofing was special.
Surprisingly, there was nothing in the apartment that shouldn't be there.
No surveillance cameras, no listening devices.
As Chu Xin had said, the rooms were empty, with nothing but a few beds.
The three-bedroom apartment was only 80 square meters and very compact, but it was definitely enough for the six of them.
However, after checking the rooms, Tali came over with a subtle expression.
"In the bathroom, there's a small window that looks out toward the heavily guarded area."
The base was only so big; it was impossible to designate G Zone as important, set it apart, and then declare the entire surrounding area a restricted zone.
If they did that, there wouldn't be enough land or housing.
Take their building, for example: although the 19th floor was vacant, many people lived on the floors below. The building had 37 floors, with six apartments on each floor; in reality, about half the apartments were rented out.
But because of the special nature of G Zone, all apartments facing G Zone had no windows on that side.
This was to prevent people from spying on or eavesdropping on the secrets of G Zone through the windows.
The research institute was a place with a very high level of secrecy. Since they weren't allowed to occupy a large, separate piece of land, they always considered such details.
But there was a window here that could see outside.
