Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Chang Zhou set his alarm for 5:40 AM.
As soon as the alarm went off, he woke up. He washed up quickly and went to the kitchen, only to find the steamed buns were still warm. He felt both touched and guilty; he had actually woken up later than the boss.
Especially when he brought the buns out and saw the door to the front of the vehicle was open. When he peeked, Ming Chu was indeed no longer in the RV.
If Ming Chu hadn't given him instructions yesterday, he might have been a bit nervous, but now he wasn't; he just felt like he was a bit useless.
Chang Zhou pulled himself together, wolfed down the bun, and started bustling about in the kitchen.
There were two refrigerators in the RV. The one in the living area was a large, double-door fridge, about the size of a standard household one.
It contained plenty of items that needed refrigeration, like fruits and yogurt.
There was also a small fridge in the kitchen, or rather, a dedicated freezer. It wasn't very big, with an internal capacity similar to a 26-inch suitcase. When Chang Zhou opened it, he saw that the previously empty freezer was now stocked with quite a bit of meat.
There was a variety of chicken, duck, fish, beef, and mutton, and in significant quantities.
Seeing all that meat, Chang Zhou decided to stir-fry some savory toppings and make a sauce for noodles.
For someone like Chang Zhou who was used to cooking, making savory toppings and noodle sauce wasn't difficult. Twenty minutes was enough to stir-fry the toppings, and the noodle sauce was already prepared; it just needed to be marinated before being cooked.
That was because Ming Chu had already returned.
Right at 6:00 AM, Ming Chu returned to the RV. As soon as she entered, she smelled the aroma of the savory toppings.
Seeing Ming Chu back, Chang Zhou flashed a big smile: "Boss, I made two types of savory toppings. If we have noodles next time, we can just add them in."
"No need to call me Boss, just call me by my name," Ming Chu shook her head. "I don't think I'm older than you."
"Well, those who are more capable come first," Chang Zhou said cheerfully, though he changed his tune. "Alright, then I'll take the liberty of calling you Ming Chu from now on."
