The cold blade pressed against her skin, and the pursuers were drawing closer. The man behind her seemed increasingly agitated. Ming Chu started the electric scooter and warned, "Keep that knife away from me. The bike wobbles easily; don't go cutting me by accident."
The man was taken aback.
Ming Chu was too calm—so calm that he felt something was wrong. But with the pursuers closing in, there was no time to rethink the hijacking, so he could only pull the knife back a little.
Then, the electric scooter took off.
