Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
From 7:00 PM to 9:40 PM, there were three sessions of evening self-study.
By the middle of the second and third sessions, many students had started pulling snacks out of their desks.
There was no help for it; at an age where they were bottomless pits, they couldn't survive without stocking up on snacks.
Ming Chu, while biting into a piece of chocolate, was speechless as she looked at the test paper she had completed.
The good news: the high school curriculum in this world was similar to Blue Star's. At a glance, she understood many of the questions and knew how to solve them.
The bad news: even though Ming Chu still remembered most of her high school knowledge, she only scored 87 on a biology test, 11 points lower than the 98+ average the former 'her' used to get.
Ming Chu wouldn't be able to catch up on these grades anytime soon—mainly because she wasn't here to attend classes anyway; she still needed to find a way out.
The third session of evening self-study began. Ming Chu took a few big gulps of water when the bell rang to wash away the cloying sweetness of the chocolate, then sat up straight to finish the final session.
When class finally ended, the students in the classroom were like walking corpses, closing their books and heading toward the dormitory building with vacant eyes.
Li Xian came over to link arms with Ming Chu, leaning half her weight on her, listless: “Ugh, class is so tiring. I’m going to sleep a bit more later. I’ll set three alarms; I’ll definitely be able to wake up.”
“Don't disturb the others, I’ll wake you up.” Ming Chu shook her head.
“What if you fall asleep too?” Li Xian wrinkled her face. “If only she were in our dorm.”
“It’s fine, I’m a light sleeper, you know that. I’ll hear her knocking.” Ming Chu comforted her.
Li Xian kept saying she had to hang in there, and at worst, she’d sleep more during the breaks tomorrow.
But as soon as she finished washing up in the dorm and lay on her bed, she fell asleep within two minutes, before the lights were even out.
Ming Chu had also finished washing up. She applied some baby cream and lay down on her bed as well.
