Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Xu Ruo broke her composure for a second and couldn't help but laugh: "So, the ultimate goal in life is to get a government position, right?"
"Of course. If I had a government position, I'd have a secure iron rice bowl," Ming Chu argued confidently.
Xu Ruo replied: "...Of course you do. Plus, your social insurance and housing fund will be at the highest tier. But Ming Chu, you are different. Because of your talent, your commission structure will be a bit more complex."
Others can only choose three items to bring back. Yan Yan is already considered a bug in the system; she can bring back a bit more medicine, but the medicine box is only so big. While some medicines are very precious, she is still very limited overall.
But Ming Chu is different. It seems she can bring back almost anything.
The Special Administration Bureau was only established recently. If Ming Chu and Yan Yan agree, they would be the first batch of veterans in the bureau, aside from players with special statuses like Xu Ruo.
Of course, whether they are veterans or not isn't important. What Ming Chu cares about is: "If I join, how will my family be protected?"
"There are two plans. One is that we send people to protect them, and the other is to relocate them all to our side," Xu Ruo said, though she was very curious to see how Ming Chu and Yan Yan would choose.
"Let me ask one question first: does every city have a Special Administration Bureau?" Ming Chu asked again.
A flicker of emotion crossed Xu Ruo's eyes. Sometimes Ming Chu was so sharp she didn't seem like a sheltered college student at all.
"No. For now, we can only say there is one branch per province. Our manpower cannot cover that far," Xu Ruo explained. Even with the current special circumstances, most manpower is focused on maintaining social stability. It's not that players aren't important, but they cannot be the top priority, and the number of players is too small.
There were once 99 people; it's unknown how many are left now.
Even if there were one player per city, they couldn't cover all the prefecture-level cities in China.
"I need to go back and discuss it with my family," Ming Chu didn't make a choice immediately.
Xu Ruo handed them two documents directly: "These are the differences between the two plans. You can go back and think about it carefully."
Ming Chu casually put the documents into her space, planning to read them after returning home.
"I'm also here to deliver things this time. I brought back quite a lot. We entered the world of parasites, and I brought out some medicine and materials," Ming Chu explained briefly.
Xu Ruo was very calm until she heard that Ming Chu had brought out parasite queen pheromones, deworming medicine, and other items. She was incredulous: "How do you have these things? You didn't trigger a side quest again, did you?"
