Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
If you ask what, besides the main roads, is interconnected throughout a city, it would be the sewers.
Every building has a sewer, and every sewer eventually leads deeper into the ground. These sewers form a vast network beneath the city. If the problem really was in the sewers, then it was a huge issue.
"I need to tell my colleagues about this," Officer Li said, taking a deep breath.
"Let's go together. We can also take a good look at the rooms of the other missing people," Ming Chu sighed, also feeling that the situation was tricky.
The sewer was the most difficult place in the city to defend against!
Ming Chu and Officer Li went downstairs, not forgetting to take a look at the remaining homes.
Clearly, all of them had those marks that seemed to be caused by mold or dampness, and upon closer inspection, one could find many such traces.
These weren't bloodstains, and before Ming Chu pointed them out, they hadn't specifically looked for them.
When they caught up with the search team downstairs, the others only saw Officer Li's exceptionally serious face.
For a moment, several people looked at Ming Chu, wondering if she had done something that made Officer Li unable to tolerate her.
But what no one expected was for Officer Li to say, "We've made a discovery. We suspect these incidents were caused by parasites."
"Wait, what do you mean caused by parasites? Even when people explode, it doesn't look like this," one of the officers said, his face full of confusion, seemingly unable to comprehend what he had just heard.
As police officers, they were mostly responsible for human-to-human conflicts within the city. They were criminal investigators, as deaths caused by insect accidents were generally handled by others.
To be honest, when people were parasitized to the limit, the way they exploded was not pretty. The area would be covered in flesh, blood, and insects—a very obvious and tragic sight.
