Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
The male student had literally exploded. Mixed in with the flesh and blood bursting from his body were dozens of worms, each about the thickness of a pair of chopsticks.
Carried by the immense force of the blast, those worms pelted the ground and walls with a rhythmic pattering sound.
Small craters were punched into the dirt, and the branches and leaves in the flower beds were shredded; one could only imagine how violent the force of that explosion had been.
If that had hit a person, the pain would have been unimaginable.
Actually, the pain wasn't the main concern. The real problem was that their protective suits were only sealed for isolation, not designed to withstand physical impact. If a tear were to be ripped into them...
Just thinking about that possibility made Zhang Ming’s face turn pale.
He couldn't help but grab onto Ming Chu’s clothes tightly. "Sister, Sister, thank goodness you were here, otherwise I would have been done for!"
Ming Chu, however, was too preoccupied to worry about Zhang Ming’s feelings. She stared at the scene on the ground and walls, her expression darkening.
When that person exploded, hundreds of worms must have been released.
Under the sheer force of the blast, most of those worms had died—though they looked slightly larger and perhaps a bit tougher than the one Ming Chu had previously extracted from Student No. 2’s face, they didn't seem to be fully mature yet.
But even if only one-tenth of them survived, that was still dozens of worms.
At that moment, these remaining dozens were acting particularly active on the ground, even gnawing on the corpses of their own kind and the remnants of the male student’s flesh.
In just that short span of time, Ming Chu felt like she saw one of the worms grow a size larger.
"Stay here and hide. I’m going to clean those up." Ming Chu couldn't wait any longer; she gave the instruction and headed out.
"Huh? Sister, can I help too?" Zhang Ming was actually terrified and disgusted, but he figured that since he was a man and had been useless in the lab—just a total rookie among the experts—he should at least try to help out elsewhere.
Now he had to find other ways to contribute, right?
"Fine, just be careful," Ming Chu didn't refuse.
