Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
This was a snowfall that swept across almost the entire globe; whether in the tropical equatorial regions or the glacial zones, snowflakes drifted down everywhere.
People outdoors only felt a chill land on them, and they looked up in surprise: "It's snowing?"
When in doubt, take a picture first.
But before they could even finish recording a video, their expressions suddenly turned vacant.
In just half a minute, everyone who hadn't taken cover from the snow curled their lips into an eerie smile, then moved with sluggish limbs toward the nearest shelter.
Those who had only been touched by the snow for a second or two before hiding felt a shiver run through them; terrified of being near the others, they bolted away.
But half a minute later, they too fell into that same eerie smile, standing quietly in a sheltered spot, piously watching the snow outside.
It was like a bizarre ritual; one by one, people were affected, and those hiding indoors watched the scene with horrified expressions.
Some wanted to call the police, others wanted to call an ambulance or the fire department—any official emergency line would do.
But none of them could get through.
The signal was gone.
"The signal is down," Liu Yun gestured, only moving her lips without making a sound.
The dozen or so people in the infirmary who had been scratching themselves until they were covered in blood, their fingernails still caked with their own flesh, now wore only that same eerie smile as they watched the snowy scene outside the doors and windows.
It was like the uncanny valley effect, making the three of them—Ming Chu, Liu Yun, and Liu Xu—subconsciously hold their breath, afraid to move.
Liu Xu covered her mouth tightly, her eyes filled with terror and panic.
Their city was in the south, where even around the New Year, they might only see a flurry or two that never even whitened the ground, yet it was already the end of April!
It wasn't like the injustice of Dou E!!
Liu Xu was clearly beyond help, so Liu Yun looked at the unexpectedly calm and composed Ming Chu, a flicker of suspicion crossing her eyes. She typed on her phone: [Did you know this would happen?]
[I didn't. I just suspected there was something wrong with their wounds; I didn't expect it to turn out like this.]
