Apocalypse Invasion: Survival on the Infinite Train
Ming Chu’s ears perked up, but she asked nonchalantly, "Right? I’ve heard the bugs are biting really badly lately, so I wanted to stock up on medicine. It would be hard to find if we get bitten while camping."
"Then let me give you a bit more. Why don't you just cancel the camping trip? The bug bites are truly terrifying right now. Look at that kid from earlier; I wasn't trying to scare you about the amputation. If you keep dragging it out, there really is a risk of needing an amputation," the clerk advised kindly.
Ming Chu shook her head. "Their train tickets are already booked. It’s not like I can just say we aren't going. Sorry for the trouble, miss."
"Sigh, young people just love to court disaster," the clerk muttered, picking out two large bags of medicine for Ming Chu, which cost her over a thousand yuan.
After finishing at the first shop, Ming Chu checked into a hotel, made sure there were no hidden cameras, and moved the medicine into her spatial storage. She continued buying more from shop to shop, spending a few hundred at some and nearly two thousand at others. She bought out every protective suit in every store until she had only 10,000 yuan left.
Then, she began purchasing daily necessities.
For instance, mosquito coils, floral water, leather gloves, scarves, and hats—Ming Chu stockpiled them by the crate. She also bought more food and water, though compared to the insect-repellent supplies, it was a drop in the bucket.
Because Ming Chu chose to shop at a large supermarket, they offered home delivery.
She left her hotel room address and even hitched a ride back to the hotel.
As crate after crate of supplies was carried up, Ming Chu drew quite a few curious stares.
But with her baseball cap and mask on, and her head kept slightly lowered, few people could clearly see her face.
It took five trips to move everything she had bought. Once the delivery people left, Ming Chu took out the medicine she had already stashed in her space and organized it with the new supplies.
Looking at her two spatial dimensions—one large and one small—Ming Chu let out a long sigh of relief.
Back when she used her talent points to upgrade, her space expanded by over five times, reaching one cubic meter. This immediately gave her much more breathing room, and the increased capacity eased the restrictions on what she could store.
For example, Ming Chu had two 100L water tanks in her space. They only took up 0.08 cubic meters, but with the 2.5x storage capacity, the total volume reached an astonishing 500L.
In the real world, Ming Chu had filled 0.6 cubic meters of her space. This recent shopping spree added another 0.25 cubic meters of supplies.
