The villa was surrounded by zombies.
When the screams erupted outside, Ming Chu had already checked from the window. A dense mass of zombies had swarmed in. Fortunately, the villa had a perimeter wall, and it was quite sturdy—a preference of Father Lin's that had now become a life-saving asset.
Beyond the wall, Father Lin had summoned all his trusted subordinates. With the basement stocked with plenty of weapons, they could hold their ground for the time being.
Ming Chu remained calm and said, "Although it's a bit chaotic outside, it's fine. We're within the safe zone; we can hold out."
Only then did Lin Meng feel at ease, allowing her to focus entirely on giving birth.
Xu Ruo glanced at her, then took a moment while gathering supplies to check the situation. When she returned, her expression was grave. She said to Ming Chu, "Where is your sniper rifle? Let me use it."
"Right here." Ming Chu retrieved the package from her spatial storage.
Since she had already revealed the existence of her storage to Brother Wang, she could now safely keep the items she had collected with him inside it without worry.
As soon as she took it out, Xu Ruo assembled it in a few quick motions and shouldered the rifle, aiming it outside.
She wasn't attacking; she was observing.
The magnified view of the sniper scope, combined with her eagle-eyed vision, was enough for her to see the situation within a five-kilometer radius.
After seeing clearly, her expression turned cold.
She whispered, "We are the only place with this many zombies."
If other areas were just dealing with normal wandering zombies, their location was being encircled by layer upon layer of them.
It was fortunate that when Mr. Lin heard from Ming Chu that Lin Meng was about to give birth, he sensed something was wrong. After all, he knew exactly how far along his daughter's pregnancy was, so he had immediately gathered all the manpower he could.
Furthermore, all the supplies and ammunition he possessed had been moved into the villa.
